Hiyake was in aw, the place was huge and all the people living in there are crowded and running from places to places. She had walked miles from the hills and then notice a small route ahead that leads to a bridge to the town. The river was clear but was flooded with broken branches. It wasn’t a sight to see since the place looked gloomy and not much flowers blossoming. Hiyake then walked to the bridge an heard creaks each time her foot lands on to the surface of the wood. The wood must have been used for quite a while and not been fix. Hiyake cross over the bridge and came across some horse pulling carriage passing by the road ahead. ‘ what the hell……why are there people in weird clothing and horses with carriage?’ Hiyake thought to herself , this must be a dream! It’s can’t be so real! She can’t be transported to another land. ‘another world…. All those things happen today……..it looked much like the story in the TV…….no…it can’t be real….why me?’ she wanted to whack herself up and think of this as a dream. The superstition can’t be real not unless one believes in it. Hiyake never believe in those stuff except for horoscopes.
All of a sudden a carriage was suddenly running it’s way to Hiyake. Hiyake made a dodge and was at the side of the road to let the horse with the carriage go. A man was sitting on it and he had notice Hiyake , he ask “HEY! Lady! Do you know how to get a short cut to the Hairo-…..gasp” he looked at Hiyake and gave a frightening look on his face. He then galloped the horse and left of screaming “ DEMON!!!! DEMON!!!!” Hiyake stared at the run away carriage man and wondered. “demon? Hey! How rude!” of course she had not bath but she don’t smell like a demon right? She walked into a large wall and a hole a huge as a double storey house or bigger. It could fit an elephant through it! Hiyake then notice two men with mace in hand guarding the place, a man tried to enter but they pushed him away. “a human like you are not allowed to enter, unless you have the pass to go through! If you don’t have it, then leave at once!!” one of the man shouted. They must be guarding the place so that only people who had the pass can enter. ‘this is going to be hard…..’ Hiyake thought. Suddenly she notice another carriage with a huge bundle of hay coming this way, she then thought of an idea.
“Pass please………..ok you may enter” the man who was riding the carriage handed the pass to the guard and was allowed to go through, not realizing that someone had hopped into the back of the carriage and hidden inside the hay. “phew… close call” Hiyake whispered and giggle when the guards didn’t see her in the huge bundle of hay. It was quite a ride, Hiyake could see all of the people walking up and down the place. Stalls were held at their on home selling vegetables and meat. Restaurants high and rich with red decorations, people wearing strange outfits . All of them had their hair tied up high in buns and braids, even man. “weird!” Hiyake said. It was noisy in the streets and the carriage came into a stop. Hiyake sneak out of the hay and ran of so that the man did not notice her. She walked into the streets full of accessory shops, herbs and even clothing shop. Baggers had been on the side of the street bagging for money from the people who went pass them.
Hiyake notice a little girl being beaten up by some group of men and a rich looking man stood up and looks down on her, laughing. “you dare to touch me with your filthy hands! You should be rewarded with punishments!” the girl later look up to the towering man in front of her and said “please have mercy, my grandma is weak and can’t work anymore, I need a little money and that is all! Please! Just a little money great and powerful man.” She bagged showing him her empty bowl ,and all she get was a kick in the rib bone. She fell to her side crying in pain. “Hah! Have mercy? Are you trying to play with me? You’re a waste of time. Boys let’s go I want to reward you all with delicious meals later on” Hiyake watched the rich man left laughing loudly with his mens following behind him laughing and smiling all the way. “poor girl….” Hiyake thought . this place look like ancient china and all this is very similar to a drama scene. Hiyake don’t know what to do since she doesn’t have enough money for herself. She took out her wallet and look inside and sign, there was only a few coins inside. She looked at some people buying veggies with weird looking money that look like little flat donuts “Hack….she needed it more then me” she decided to take it out and donate it to the girl crouching on the floor crying. She dropped the coins into the bowl and gave the girl a smile. The girl stopped crying and look at Hiyake with widen eyes, she looked at Hiyake strangely . “Here, it might not be of use to the town but at least if you can trade anything with this. Trust me, it might help.” Hiyake stood up and attempt to leave but she felt a tug on her skirt and turn to see the girl looking up at her and smile. “thank you miss…” Hiyake smiled at her. All of a sudden a scream came out from the crowds and stomps and trashing sounds can be heard. The crowd was separating and then silence took over the place. “ Who is this lady you saw dress in white and blue clothing? Is she around here? What demon is she?” Hiyake can hear a rough voice and another answered “ I swear a demon was at the gate looked like a maiden in strange blue clothing! I also saw her went pass here! I know she is here!” Hiyake realize that the voice belong to the man who was talking to her at the bridge but drove off after giving her a stupid look and screamed ‘demon’.
The crowd separated and a large member of armored guards walking pass them. All of them look stranger then anything in her life. Purple skin with scales, horns ,sharp tooth, claws, and even pointy ears. Ok this must be a dream! She never seen such a thing in life. ‘what are this things? Are they all monsters?’ suddenly the girl who is still there tugged on to Hiyake’s skirt and said “I think they were talking about you lady, run while you can!” Hiyake gave a questioning look and realized what the people meant. She was the one in strange white and blue clothing! She had to cover herself before she gets to many attentions. But unfortunately she was being spotted by one of them. “ There! Is that the one?” one of them ask the crowds turn their eyes at Hiyake. This time she had to make a run for. The man from before suddenly looked at her and shouted and pointed at her “ She’s the one!!! There! She’s there!” Everyone was mumbling and looking at Hiyake from top to bottom, indeed she was strange looking. “GUARDS!!! CEASE HER!” the guards suddenly advanced onto Hiyake’s direction. “Gyah!!” Hiyake dashed away from them and ran through the crowds, making them scream and frightened. “ DON”T LET HER GET AWAY!!! CAPTURE HER AND BRING HER TO THE CASTLE!! THIS IS THE LEADERS ORDER!!” Hiyake ran as if a bull was chasing after her ass, this isn’t good. They were catching up to her, this made her feel guilty for not going out jogging with her brother when he ask her .
Things are getting even messier because Hiyake had to turn her directions and she accidently kicked some baskets and had scattered everywhere, at least it did a find job making the guards have a hard time getting pass them. One of them tripped over and all of them fell on to each other. Hiyake laugh and stopped to take a deep breath. But one problem is she had went the wrong direction because she had came back to the same place where she was started being chase. The leader of the pack was here , Hiyake was about to turn around when the crowds nearby scream “ HELP!! THE DEMON IS HERE!!! SOMEONE HELP!!” it was very unfortunate to her because the leader noticed her and started dashing to her direction. Hiyake tried to runaway but was caught in the back by those guards who fell after chasing her.
They had bound Hiyake’s hands and one of them snared at her. Hiyake gave them an angry growl and try to break free but was unable. Their leader was laughing at her attempt to escape. “you gave us a hard time there little girl, such a small demon like you could even run faster and made tricks of turning direction to out run my guards. Hah! You could even disguise yourself as a human and smell like one! Don’t try and fool us by wearing those weird outfit, we get people like you disguising as a strange idiot.” He sniffed at her and Hiyake kicked him in the chest “get lost! You freak!” she said angrily while struggling against the hold. “while you’re a tough one aren’t cha? Well let’s see how tough are you when you face the Lord of this land girl! Guards! Take her to the castle where the Lord awaits her presence.” “ Sir yes sir!” all of them said , saluting to their leader and dragged Hiyake to the castle walls.
“ Stop MOVING GIRL!!” they had dragged the noisy and stubborn girl all the way into the castle dungeons where many other prisoners were kept . They seem to had kept the prisoners separately, man on the left prison and both women and child on the right. They unlocked the women’s prison door and Hiyake, who was currently trying to avoid getting push inside, was being thrown roughly in by a huge guard and landed on her face first. “heyheyHEY!!!!” Hiyake got up from where she landed and run to the door, which is all ready locked. “HEY!!!!! LETMEOUT!!!!! HOI!!!!!” she scream while kicking the door. “Lay down there and stop shouting girl, you’ll be the first person to see the Lord and he is not in a very happy mood.” One of the guards said and sat down on a chair at the wall. “ we are not going to live long…….” Hiyake heard whispers from the women sitting at corner side of the prison, all of them mumbled and and was whimpering. “a young girl such as you, strong or not, will never survive this nightmare” “we all can never escape from this” “not one of us will live, for that the day will arrive” Hiyake looked at all of them , not knowing what are they say. “wait, what? What do you mean we will not survive? From what?” one of them look at her with scared look on their face “ The day of extinction begins of us humans! The lord had plan to kill all of the humans living in this horrid place, and all demons could take over and make a demon empire! All of us, including you, will die on that day!.......” “you must be kidding! Stop scaring people like that!” Hiyake laughed. But all of them started crying, childrens frighten and hide on their mothers side. This can’t be serious, Hiyake just got here and she is gonna get slaughtered? “no…..no………don’t lie ……it’s not real right?” but looking at them crying there in the dark made what the women said was true. Hiyake wanted to go home but she will be killed if she stays here.
She wanted to be home, wrestling with her brothers and sister and laugh with her best friends. But all seem impossible because there’s no way home. “where is this place? China?” Hiyake ask . one of them replied “ you are not from this place? I see……..this is the part of china where we people stay harmony in this village, learning to build all weapons made of gunpowders and all……..to protect this place from the demons. This era is known the feudal era to us……and” she broke into tears and unable to continue. Hiyake realize that this is not the year she is in, but in the year before her birth. She dropped to the ground and wanted to cry. “ How could this happen? This is not what I wanted……everyone I know……..is not here….”she then lay on to the floor and cried silently.
He was standing at the corner of the room looking out at the window beside him, watching the humans running up and down the streets below. The day of the extinction of the humans is the day after tomorrow, and in that day he will rule over the land again just like his father did. Lord Hyoga had ordered his only son to conquer this land and become the new lord of the feudal era of china. And when all the humans were killed, his father had promise to come to his land three days after the day of extinction against the humans. He smirked and thought of this plan of slaughtering the humans by making them suffer slowly and die slowly. It makes death even sweeter.
Suddenly he heard a knock and a voice came out. “Lord Menomaru, we had a problem in the town, a girl in strange white and blue clothing had trespass the land and making a havoc in the street.” Menomaru sigh , another trouble maker had appeared and this time it must be one of those idiots again who pretend to dress as the goddess of seasons. “ just catch that human and send her to the prison. I will see to it, and don’t waste my time with her, kill her on the spot when I am done talking to her.” He ordered “ yes my Lord!” the quards replied and ran off. Those humans don’t seem to understand about trying to lie to him that they are the goddess of seasons so that they are not to be killed in that day. The land had not have any flowers, lively wild animals, clear river and a clear blue sky, since the day he came to the land. Nothing has grown over the years, to what the humans believe, that the goddess of season that had been providing lifes to the land was not here anymore and was said that she was killed by a dark priestess. But Menomaru didn’t believe in those kinds of things and didn’t care about it. All he wants is the extinction of the humans and he will be happily ruling the land. But for now he will have to deal with this girl and go back to what he was doing in his study previously.
“Ruri, get the guards to send this girl in blue to the hall room.” He ordered a female guard dress in dark blue uniform and blue armor . Ruri walked over the room and bow to the Lord. “yes, my Lord” and she left the room, leaving her sister, Hari, who dress in pale pink and purple armor standing guard.
Hiyake woke up from the floor when she heard the door unlocked, she had been crying herself to sleep and now her body cramp from sleeping on the floor for hours. A women dress in dark blue clothing ordered the guards to take the ‘strange girl in blue’ to the hall. The guards obeyed her orders and unlocked the prison door and search for this girl in blue. ‘now is my chance!’
Hiyake thought to herself. When the guards was walking a little further from the door , she pounce from behind those women and ran to the door. The guard spotted her and yelled “HEY YOU!! STOP HER!!!” Hiyake think the guard was stupid because since he was far from reach she can run out at the right timing. But what didn’t make her think is that the woman dress in blue was strong. Ruri grabbed Hiyake’s bounded wrist and trap her by pushing her against the prison bars. There was a loud bang because Ruri had slam Hiyake hard on the metal bars. She struggled from Ruri’s hold but failed “ OW!! Arg……..!! let go! I can’t breathe!!!” “ don’t you think of escaping while under Lord menomaru’s watch ,human.” Ruri said. “she’s the one who was this morning’s trouble maker.” The guard said, coming out of the prison and locking the door. Ruri look back to the girl under her hold , she is indeed strange judging the way she dressed“ well you better not do anything troublesome when talking to the Lord menomaru. Come!” she pulled her of the bars and handed her to the guards. “heyheyHEY!!!!” Hiyake is still struggling to escape.
“ just shut up and walk human!” the guard yelled at her. Ruri ordered another pair of guards to take care of their back just in case she gets loose and escapes. Lights from the sky blinded Hiyake, since she has been in the dim lighted dungeon. They walked pass the servants and made Hiyake think that they must be demons as well because of their eyes and pointy ears. They kept walking until Hiyake try struggling from the hold again and this time even harder. “hey enough! Quit struggling girl!!” the guard got angry and attempt to hit her but was stop by Ruri. “let me..” Ruri then took out her spear out of no where and pointed at Hiyake’s neck. Ruri had lost her patience on this human and wanted to slaughter her on the spot. “don’t try and make any more problems human, you are wasting my time!” she growled at Hiyake. “er…hehe……(sweat)” Ruri pulled back her spear and continue to lead the way. When they finally reach the big door which is open widely Ruri entered the dimly lighted room along with the guards and Hiyake. The room was crowded with some male demon in strange Chinese clothings and guards on the side of the red carpet. Hiyake was lead to the center of the room and was force to be on her knees. The room was full with chatter and mumblings about Hiyake. They never seen such a weird clothing in their life. “ the Lord will now enter the room”
Menomaru had left half of his work at his study, he’ll have to quickly finish this idiotic girl and return to his work. He had captured a lot of prisoners who tried to pretend to clam that they saw the goddess or they are the goddess themselves…..mostly male idiots would always make fake stories of the ‘God’ of the seasons. This time this was the last straw and after that when any guards take in prisoners they are to be killed on the spot. He make his way to the hall way and open the side door on the right to the Great Hall. “the Lord will now enter the room” one of the guards called. He walk up the stairs to his king size golden arm chair decorated with dragon symbols and a moth crest. He took his sit and scanned the place, his royal subjects are at the corner side of the room mumbling what so ever until his eyes stop at the female at the center of the room and is kneeling in front of him. He looked at her strangely and wondered what kind of people is she? The way she looked and dressed were totally not what he had seen the prisoners did, it was far beyond their fashion. But one more thing is that he never seen a girl like her tie her hair messily in a high pony tail, might be that she never comb her hair while doing so.
Hiyake glared up at the Lord and stared at him disgustedly , he looked like a bug lady because of his long shiny pale green hair and red antennas. His cape makes him look as if he has wings. Hiyake then struggle to stand up but was push back down by one of the guards “don’t move human!” “I have a name ya’know! And it’s not H-U-M-A-N!! ….stupid …” everyone stared at her and went back mumbling and gossiping about her rough way of speaking. Menomaru waved his hand to get the attention so that the room is quiet enough to start. “ why is it you humans never stop pretending to dress like the those fools? Have any of those signs on the walls of this capital tells you anything?” Hiyake let out a sigh and didn’t know what to say, but all she thought of is escaping. But what is he mean by ‘dressing like those fools’ ? the prisoners? Menomaru had lost his patience at the girl “Speak human, I shall not let you waste my time! If you don’t I’ll have to order the guards to slaughter you on the spot” he bellowed. Hiyake is still stuck and speechless. But she could try to waste his time and make him change his mind about killing her? She does not want to die now, not when she can’t see everyone again. “ hey….listen buddy I had a name and what’s with you people calling me and everyone humans? Never wanna ask what’s their name? well now it’s your chance to ask mine! I am Hiyake, now quit calling me human.” She talked a little louder so that her name would go through their freaking stubborn heads. Everybody was mumbling eve louder until Menomaru speak “ well, I see you got the guts to talk big there, human wench, my name is Menomaru, son of the Lord Hyoga and ruler of this land, take it through your head.”
There he goes, calling her ‘human’ and ‘wench’ and this time she is the one getting mad. “ it’s HIYAKE! H.I.Y.A.K.E! did you just purposely didn’t hear what I just said? Are you deaf? Oh ya! I thought your name could have rimed with the word ‘cockroach’ because of your antennas” ok wait , she had just insulted him. “SILENCE!! Never speak to Lord Menomaru in such a way human pest!” Ruri hit Hiyake on her back with her spear. Hiyake felt pain and stayed stilled there, she was growing mad and finally couldn’t help it but to spat the word about his name out. Now she is in deep shits. Everyone gasped in horror at the way she said to their Lord. “ did you just heard what I just heard? She just said something to lord Menomaru , and that will make her life even worse” “I thought a girl like her would not use a rough way of speaking to a man.” “I think she will not find a spouse in that way” “ yap, she’ll die in the late afternoon later on” Hiyake glared at the people standing at the corner saying she will not get married. If she survive , she will rip their throats off.
Menomaru stared at the girl, she must have wanting to make him mad, waste his time and be slaughtered . Has she no fear of death? Does she even treasure her own life? He stood up, walked away from his sit and walk towards the kneeled girl. The guards, even Ruri, stepped back so that they do not black Menomaru’s way. They know what is going to happen to this girl now and it would be quite a good show. Menomaru walked in circles around Hiyake , looking down at the human girl who dare to talk like as if she is the leader here. Hiyake slowly stood up, feeling the pain on her back, and stared at Menomaru. He looked at her from up to down and back to her angered looking eyes. He stop in front of her and said“ I am the Lord of this land, have you no fear about what is going to come upon you?” he ask her , but looking at her face tells him that she doesn’t care what he just said, almost ignoring . Hiyake let out a sigh “ yeah , yeah , and I am the queen of my own house, my younger brother and my own world, is there a problem with that?” everybody had not believe in their ears, even Menomaru. She had disrespected him a few times now , but inside she is shaking to her feet. When ever she is speechless in serious situations she’ll end up saying something that will make and argument start out. ‘this is not good! Quit saying stupid stuff you fool!’ Hiyake paled
Menomaru had never seen a woman like her would speak up to herself and not caring of saying those words. but now he’ll have to come back to the main topic. “why is it you are dressed like this? Don’t you know? The goddess never exist in this land , neither of you are her descendents nor have her powers. Is it that you all wanted to escape death that is in the day after tomorrow? No, no matter what, goddess or not you will be killed on that day.” Hiyake is yet again confuse. Goddess? What is that all about? About the extinction of mankind or of the story of a goddess? “ whoa wait I don’t get what you are saying. Hey buddy, I just came to this place and nothing else. I didn’t mean to trespass this land and waste time here. I need to go home. Plus I don’t know how the hack suppose to get back and I don’t even know what is going on! One of you man called me the girl who dress as a white and blue demon and all the trash they could throw at me.”
‘who is this human girl? Is she not from this land? Even so she had supposed to know what is going to happen and about the goddess.but for now she will have to be slaughtered for disrespection and wasting my time ’ Menomaru finally turn and walked back to his throne and stood there. “ you maybe acting smart of making stories like the others, but don’t worry, since you have a death wish I’ll execute you right here right now. You have wasted so much of my time human. Guards kill her on the spot and throw her remains out of this castle. And I don’t one any of her blood stenches in this room right after this” he ordered. The guards quickly do what he said and proceed to kill her.
Hiyake was cornered and frighten, she is gonna be killed all because of her damn mouth. This is not what she is expacting and now it is happening to her. One of the guards hold her down to her knees, one of them positioned themselves and was about to thrust their sword on to her flesh. Ruri stood at the side watching it, not caring of the mumbling audience behind her. Menomaru was about to walk back to the door where he first came in when a scream was heard and lights spilling everywhere of the room.
Hiyake was not ready and the swords are now pointing at her from a few inches away from her face. When the guards took their hands up high and pulled down the sword towards Hiyake, she let out a frightening scream and brace herself for the pain is coming. She suddenly felt as If something inside of her immerge out, her heart beating fast. Lights coming out from her and spread the room. The guards hold her down had let go of their grasp and shattered like glass, even the guards holding the sword vanish. She felt that the ropes holding her wrist vanished and she stood up. Hiyake felt warm within the light. Something she had felt before but do not know where. Everyone in the room was shocked and ran out of the room but was also got caught by the light. Menomaru stood there shielding his eyes from the brightness.
Suddenly the light disappeared, leaving the room back to it’s original dimness. Ruri had been hiding behind the pillars that hold the roof, she had not know what was coming but had hidden from the light’s rays in time. Now the room had only dead bodies of the audience, but Menomaru and Ruri were still standing, looking at the girl in confuse.
Menomaru had seen what had happen to those guards and the people around him, this girl must have been a priestess using purity power on them without their knowledge . This girl had challenge him. “ you do not know your place human, you will not leave this place alive.” He took ot his sword from it’s sheath and walked down from the door. Hiyake was very blur at this point, she does not know what had happen and how did it happen. But one thing that had her came back to her sense is Menomaru advancing on her, sword in his hand. Menomaru speed up and advanced on to her and is now standing right in front of Hiyake. Hiyake got frighten and stepped back and tried to turn and run. What caught Menomaru to stopped at that point of rising his hand and cutting her down with one slash, is two pairs of colorful little butterfly wings on her back. What is that? He never seen a human priestess baring wings like butterflies do and if she is a demon she could had freed herself and attacked. Maybe she is not a priestess nor an ordinary human girl. ‘ who exactly is this girl?’ he wondered. Hiyake was still frighten and had ran quite far from him and had reach the big door when Ruri had ran behind Hiyake and was about to kill her before she escapes. “Ruri! Halt… let this one live. she might had some secrets we don’t know about the story of the goddess.” Menomaru stopped Ruri from killing Hiyake. Hiyake landed on her back with a thud and look up to both of the demons in front of her. This is like hell! They were both chasing her and want to end her life. But why did they stop? “But Lord Menomaru! She is only a filthy human pest! We- “ Ruri protested but Menomaru waved his had to shout her up. He walked past Ruri and looked down at the frighten girl. She might have been the one, and this time it’s not one of those idiots pretending to be a goddess. Hiyake was crawling backwards when a moth fly just above her and left powdery dust on to Hiyake. Hiyake fell to the floor unconscious, her world blacked out. The wings on her back had disappeared to dust.
Menomaru stood back up and ordered Ruri “she might be of use and when I am finish with her , kill her. Even if she does or does not know the true story of the goddess of the seasons . Keep her into a cell and she must be alone in there and no one else is to disturb her until she is needed.” “understood, Lord Menomaru” Ruri bowed to him. Menomaru walked away and had left the Great Hall to his study. This will be quite an interesting week.
